This study presents the development of the Cypriot Left from 1900 to the present.
In each chapter, the general historical development of
Cyprus is described so that the evolution of the Left can be comprehendeded. The account begins with the rise of the trade unions and then traces the emergence of the KKK in 1926.
The following chapters describe its banning in 1931 and its transformation into AKEL.
The ensuing chapters describe the history of AKEL and its sub-organisations up to the present.
