Griechenland wurde von 1936 bis 1941 diktatorisch von einem Duumvirat aus König Georg II.
und General Metaxas regiert. In der wissenschaftlichen Literatur wird das Regime vom 4.
August, wie es sich selbst nannte, als Königsdiktatur beschrieben. Sein faschistischer
Charakter wird bis heute abgelehnt. Harry Cliadakis beweist in diesem Buch ganz klar
das Gegenteil. Seine Darstellung des Regimes lässt keinen Zweifel am faschistischen
Charakter des Regimes. In einem Beitrag von Heinz Richter wird diese Interpretation
noch verstärkt: Es handelte sich um Faschismus in einem politischen System auf der
Basis des Klientelismus.
From 1936 to 1941 Greece was ruled dictatorially by a duumvirate of King George II
and General Metaxas. In the scholarly literature the regime of 4th August, as it
called itself, is described as a royal dictatorship. Its characterization as fascist
is rejected by most authors to this day. Harry Cliadakis proves in his book clearly
the opposite. His description leaves no doubt about the fascist character of the regime.
In a contribution by Heinz Richter this interpretation is strengthened: It was fasciscm
in a political system based on clientelism.
